Acceptance of treatment implies that you understand that treatment based on and is limited to material offered, discovered and undiscovered. This means there cannot be guarantees that snoring will not occur with any device.
That you understand and agree that any custom-made device will both require fitting and adjustments. While these are included in the single cost, it is your responsibility to make and keep appointments to have these carried out.
That you understand oral appliances stay in place by a firm fit around teeth and/or clips. A firm fit may and often does put unaccustomed pressure on teeth and/or gums and will require adjustment. This is seen in almost all people with a history of chronic pain, headaches and similar pain problems.
Some medications and the conditions the medications are used to treat make tooth-grinding during sleep highly likely. This can lead to harm and pain on teeth and gums and damage the devices. This is not a faulty design or fabrication and something to resolve in consultation with your doctor.
Adverse medical conditions. Where there is likelihood of Sleep Apnoea it is wise to get your doctor involved. When there is a family or personal history of heart trouble or strokes your doctor’s agreement is sought.
If you notice any adverse change in a medical condition, it is wise to stop wearing the device and contact your doctor or the Snoring Centre promptly.
It is not wise to stop either CPAP or BIPAP use or medications and should only be done with your doctor’s consent. Such action carries risk of dangerous health outcomes.
